About the Event

Join us this September at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia for the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Polo Classic. The PPC expects to welcome over 4,000 guests to Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park, attracting local and national audiences for a sensational event centered around two matches featuring Polo’s greatest champions. Proceeds from the PPC will benefit the Work to Ride program, housed at the Chamounix Equestrian Center in Fairmount Park.

The Philadelphia Polo Classic continues to showcase diverse talent and unwavering dedication within the polo community! Witness polo luminaries such as America’s top-ranked player, Nic Roldan, alongside groundbreaking pioneers and Work to Ride Alumni, Shariah Harris and Kareem Rosser, as they fiercely compete for the championship title in Philadelphia! Also featured will be Melissa and Grant Ganzi, recognized figures in the polo world recognized for their contributions to the sport’s growth and their impressive performances on the field.

Picnic at Polo!

All ticket levels may Pre-Order boxed meals through Feast Your Eyes catering for a truly seamless experience. Convenient pick-up tents are located in both VIP and General Admission areas. Click here to view menu and place your order. A portion of all boxed meal purchases benefit Work to Ride.

General Admission – $45

General Admission (GA) ticket holders can access lawn or bleacher seating, food trucks, bar tent (cash bar by Milkboy for guests 21+), exhibitors, and more. All seating is first come, first served. Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets and low-back chairs.

Polo Classic Lounge – Premium Bleacher Seating – $75

Center field, elevated seats put you right in the action with a designated bleacher seat located within a fenced-in area of the event space. Guests gain access to premium bathroom trailers and beautiful views of all the action! Ticket holders have access to all General Admission areas including exhibitor area, Food Trucks, and bar tent (cash bar by Milkboy for guests 21+).

Chukker Tent East – $150 (21+)

Field-side viewing at its best! This shaded area by the goal posts offers a lounge-style atmosphere with access to an array of light snacks, and complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks, and water. Guests gain access to premium bathroom trailers. Ticket holders have access to all General Admission areas including exhibitor area, Food Trucks, and spirits bar tent (cash bar by Milkboy for guests 21+). No reserved seating, seating offerings presented cocktail style.

Capacity is limited. Guests must be 21+

Chukker Tent West – $150 ( 21+)

Polo Classic Lounge – Premium Table Seating for 4 – $1K

This package is $1,000 total – you must purchase 4 tickets ($250 per person)

Polo Classic Lounge Premium Table Seating ticket holders will have access to a private, center-field table for four with an umbrella. Guests 21+ will receive a complimentary bottle of wine with ice bucket for chilling, 4 bottles of water, and a charcuterie box by Tasty Peach Charcuterie. Guests gain access to premium bathroom trailers. Ticket holders have access to all General Admission areas including exhibitor area, Food Trucks, and bar tent (cash bar by Milkboy for guests 21+).

Capacity is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and we request that you provide all guest names at the time of purchase whenever possible.

VIP Experience Individual Ticket – $500

VIP Experience ticket holders will be granted access to a tented viewing area complete with a designated field-side seat and access to the luxury hospitality tent with complimentary elevated food & beverage offerings including an open bar (beer, wine and signature cocktails), hors d’oeuvres, salads, snacks, desserts and more. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are also provided. Guests granted access to premium bathroom trailers, exclusive VIP entrance, and opportunities to mingle with players.

Order ahead with our a la carte dining option for your perfect picnic in your tent! If you’d like to entertain a large group in a private tent, check out our VIP Tent offering for parties of 10. VIP Experience Ticket holders have access to all VIP and General Admission areas.

VIP Tent Experience $5K

This package is $5,000 Total – you must purchase 10 tickets ($500 per person)

VIP Tent Experience is perfect for groups of 10 and offers a designated 10’ x 25’ private field-side area comprised of a 10’ x10’ tent with a 15’ front yard area with 10 chairs and room for blankets. All 10 guests will have access to the exclusive luxury hospitality tent with complimentary elevated food & beverage offerings, including an open bar (beer, wine and signature cocktails), hors d’oeuvres, salads, snacks, desserts and more. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are also provided. Guests granted access to premium bathroom trailers, exclusive VIP entrance, and opportunities to mingle with players.

VIP Tent Experience purchasers have the option to customize the food offerings in their private tent with our pre-event a la carte dining option. VIP Experience Ticket holders have access to all VIP and General Admission areas including exhibitor area, Food Trucks, and bar tent (cash bar by Milkboy for guests 21+).

FAQs

Yes, this is a dog friendly event! Dogs must be leashed at all times. There will be dog friendly activities throughout the day.

Thank you for your interest in our event. Please be advised that there is no designated rain date for this event. The Parks and Recreation Special Events office reserves the right to cancel or delay any event in the case of severe weather conditions. The decision to cancel or delay an event is up to the discretion of the parks and recreation authorities, not Work To Ride.

All ticket sales are final, and no refunds will be issued. In the event of a cancellation, tickets will be considered a donation to the organization and will be tax-exempt to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Please note that certain tickets may be subject to venue change in the event of rain. If an alternative venue is offered and tickets remain unredeemed, they will be considered void of tax-exempt status, as the exchange of goods and/or services was facilitated.

For GA you are welcome to bring chairs and blankets for match viewing. No outside beverages, coolers, or food.

No, in order to preserve the viewing for all of our guests, tents and canopies are not allowed.

This is a family event. Many ladies wear sundresses and hats while the well-dressed men will be in khakis and polo shirts or even a tweed jacket and tie. Due to the uneven terrain, flat-soled shoes or boots are recommended. Make sure you bring sunscreen and/or rain gear. Whatever you do, dress for the weather!

The Philadelphia Polo Classic offers many activities throughout the day!

In coordination with the City of Philadelphia and for the safety of event attendees and staff, the following items are prohibited:

  • Weapons and contraband of any kind regardless of permitting, e.g. Right-to-Carry permits will not be honored, and entry will be denied.
  • Fireworks, firecrackers, or explosives (including sparklers)
  • Open flame of any kind
  • Illegal or illicit substances of any kind
  • Flyers, handbills, posters, stickers (no solicitation allowed)
  • Unauthorized commerce
  • Items that would obstruct others’ view (large signs, banners, etc.)
  • Drones and any other unmanned and remote-controlled devices
  • Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, segways, hoverboards, and similar items (not allowed in the event location)
  • Glass Containers
  • Laser pointers
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Any other item or action deemed dangerous or inappropriate by production or security management 

Street parking is available throughout Fairmount Park – it is first come, first served! We recommend ride share and public transportation to the Philadelphia Polo Classic!

The Philadelphia Polo Classic and Work to Ride are not responsible for damage or theft to vehicle or contents. We recommend leaving all valuables at home. Please keep personal belongings out of view and away from your vehicle dashboard.

The 2024 Philadelphia Polo Classic Poster Contest is Open!

Congratulations to the 2023 Philadelphia Polo Classic Poster Contest winning piece, “Number 3” by Athena Scott! 

Athena Scott is an interdisciplinary artist from Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Science from The Art Institute of Philadelphia and MFA from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Athena writes in her artist statement, “My inspiration comes from the threads that connect us all, the memories and nostalgia that shape our lives, and the history that we carry within ourselves.”

Call for Art 2024!

Attention horse lovers, enthusiasts, and artists! We’re now accepting artwork in the following mediums: drawing, painting, digital, collage, photography, and mixed media (2D only).

Submission Requirements:

  • High-resolution image for poster use
  • $20 per entry (includes up to 2 pieces per person)
  • All entry fees support Work to Ride programming

Who Benefits?

The Philadelphia Polo Classic benefits Work to Ride Programming. Work to Ride is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides constructive activities centered on horsemanship, equine sports, and education to under-resourced youth from Philadelphia.

The program is housed at Chamounix Equestrian Center, located in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. In addition to the Work to Ride program, Chamounix Equestrian Center engages the community at large through various equestrian programs; including horseback riding lessons, summer camp, discovery days and polo program.
